How To Use Affirmations Properly!
Posted by: | CommentsHow To Use Affirmations Properly and efficiently…
“I am, therefore I exist,” is a phrase affirming one’s existence as a human being. It may be a simple phrase, but it says everything about why we are saying them. It indicates a confidence not commonly found among others.
But why do people need affirmations? Why do we need to be affirmed? Is existence relative to one’s affirmations?
Affirmations are a very powerful technique to empower one’s subconscious. Once the subconscious is disciplined to believe one’s affirmation, the latter is converted into a positive action for the conscious mind. Through affirmations, we are empowered to do, to work, and to strive for more things. Affirmations allows people to believe in themselves and to put their thoughts into action.

Affirmation is a combination of verbal and visual techniques of a preferred state of mind of a person. Strong affirmations can be very powerful, and can be used by almost anyone to achieve his goals and fulfill his desires. However, the power of an affirmations depends on how strong or weak an affirmation is.
Affirmations are merely an assertion made by a person, about something or about a state of being. A person can affirm those that he chooses to attain, like “I now have a good life.” Being healthy in mind, body, and spirit can also be made possible through affirmation.
A strong affirmation should be stated in the present tense to be more effective. An affirmation of “I am now a happy human being” is more effective than an affirmation saying, “I am going to become a happy human being.” Affirmation should always be in positive terms because it is supposed to work for you and not against you. Instead of saying, “I am not sad,” why not make an affirmation saying, “I am happy.”
Affirmations should be made up of simple but concise words, and it should be short to be more effective.
A very long affirmation can work the other way around, instead of creating a positive mindset for a person. A short affirmation can be easily spoken and repeated by a person. It can serve as a mantra that can be repeated over and over again.
To be effective, an affirmation must be repeated. Repetition works and influences the subconscious, which in turn motivates the person into acting out his affirmation. A person who creates the affirmation should be deeply involved with the words he will be using, so he will be able to actualize his affirmation. Writing words that one believes in can be very powerful, and this can be put to good use when creating an affirmation.
However, creating an affirmation alone and repeating them a million times would not make the affirmation a state of mind. The important thing is to live one’s affirmation and to be open-minded enough to do the things that would help the affirmation become a reality. Feeling the affirmation and applying it in one’s life will help in making the affirmation a reality.
While affirmations are generally used to make an individual better, it can also be used to boost or confirm another person’s value. By affirming another person‘s existence, you are helping him improve his self-worth.
Affirmations are a very simple thing that can make a very big difference in a person‘s life. It can be a great motivator and can make things happen.

“In achieving your goals, you may run into roadblocks. Don’t let that stop you, go around, over, or under. If you are committed to your goal you will find a way.” – Catherine Pulsifier
“Goals give you a compass in order to direct your path through life. Goals focus your thoughts and actions on areas that have precise purpose and meaning.” – Catherine Pulsifer

Cartoon Motivational Memo No.2…
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s No.2 of a series of 101 cartoons I drew for a book ‘SMILE YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS!’ which I collaborated on with Peter Sinclair of Motivational Memo…
‘Helping You To Smile Your Way To Success!’
‘I will feed on the ‘good stuff’ now, because by doing so I will be more than ready to deal with the ‘bad stuff’ when it happens.’
By living in this world, there is a probability that we at some point are going to be confronted with ‘bad stuff’. The way we handle this will be greatly determined by the amount of time and effort we have invested in getting the ‘good stuff’ into our hearts and minds. Life is a seasonal affair and it is what we do in the spring- time of our lives that will determine how we fare in the wintertime. Strengthen yourself when the weather is fare and you will stand strong when the storms arrive. You will then be able to set your sails correctly and ride with the winds towards your life’s dreams.

'Be flexible…If you're stuck, change position.'
Posted by: | Comments‘Helping You To Smile Your Way To Success!’
‘Be flexible. If you’re stuck, change position.’ Lighten up. Loosen the tight grip you have on your life. Allow yourself to go with the flow at times. The tendency for us, particularly as we get older, is to become stiff and rigid in our ways. However, in order to gain the benefit of every experience, start imagining that you are a rubber ball. That way, you will always, always bounce back. Hit a brick wall? You will rebound. Hit a roadblock and you will find another way. Hit a valley and your next address will be a mountaintop. Living in a state of uncontrollable control is the safest way to live in this changing world. You will be supple in the hands of storms and grow stronger in the path of disaster: unafraid of change, undeterred by an uncertain, yet bright future. (Peter Sinclair 2003)

Goal Setting – The Top Ten Mistakes That Rob You of Your Goals!
Posted by: | CommentsGoal Setting – The Top Ten Mistakes That Rob You of Your Goals – By Jill Koenig
1) Waking up and then trying to figure out what you are going to do that day based on what you feel like doing. High performing men and women know days, weeks and sometimes even months or years in advance.
2) Not having your tasks prioritized. When planning your day and mapping out your projects, figure out which activities should be done and in the precise order based upon importance.
3) Doing it all yourself AKA Not using professionals because you think you can’t afford it. It takes you at least 10 times longer to learn how to clumsily carry out a task that a specialist can do in a few minutes.
4) Not having a mentor. A mentor is someone you can emulate. A mentor is someone you can model who will show you the ropes, saving you valuable time, energy and money.
Are you getting the idea about goal setting!? There’s more…
5) Not having a Coach. A Coach is different from a mentor, as a coach can zero in on helping you advance specific Goals and stay focused on the tasks necessary to achieve them.
6) Spending time on things that are unnecessary. Spending valuable hours disinfecting your desk, reorganizing your file cabinets and dusting your keyboard with a Qtip in the middle of the workday is the ultimate procrastination.
7) Not working on yourself. My mentor taught me to work harder on myself than I do on my business. I still practice reading and listening to motivational tapes first thing in the morning every morning and all throughout the day.
8) Spending large amounts of time and energy with others who do not work on themselves. Part of goal setting is about getting around other focused, motivated people with Goals, dreams of their own will inspire you.
9) Not taking time to celebrate when you reach a Goal. Give yourself the gift of reveling in your achievement.

Learn to celebrate your victories!
10) Not having a long term vision to empower you. If all you are doing is racking up a bunch of meaningless tasks, you are merely killing time.
